Chapel Blog | Our weddings, events and news

Not everything at the chapel is white, frosted or sweet! Especially when it comes to fundraising!

Our Edgar Allan Poe poster arrived this weekend, and we couldn't be more thrilled. October 1 is the date for "An Evening at the Chapel with Edgar Allan Poe" and it's already coming together! Preliminary meeting with the Friends of the Library group went great, and it's full steam ahead for October! Some of the things you'll miss if you don't attend this fun evening at the chapel...... Signature Poe cocktails, yummy food, darkly dressed characters, Poe readings by aforementioned darkly dressed characters, and a chance to help the Friends of the Library with some fundraising. Our specific joy for this event is our wonderful Friends of the Library group being here, and a totally different theme and activity at the chapel. We hope you can attend. Be sure to check the chapel FB page for any updates.

Whew, speaking of fundraising, yesterday's activity exceeded ALL of our expectations, and we raised over $4,100 for the Taylor Bear program that benefits the littles at Cook's Children's Hospital in the DFW metroplex. Lots of smiles and lots of laughter all around and some pretty lucky game players. It was fun to see some of our regulars here, but we also had a great representation from the 'outside the chapel' folks, and as a result met a whole bunch of new friends. We were so thankful to be able to donate the chapel for Taylor Bears and it clearly made a difference! Thanks to all that made it out. Also, don't forget about the games night on August 6 for Slice of Heaven Educational Farm! Same fun activities, different charities, great food and adult beverages to boot! Can't wait for both of these events to happen.

Otherwise, in chapelland, Samantha picked out all her dishes, linens, glassware, service pieces, etc. etc. etc. for her wedding. We're getting excited about that, AND to top it off, Miss Emma Grace has decided to have her wedding here at the chapel just like her big sis! We can't wait to meet Sean (Emma's intended)! People who trust us with their biggest of days, MULTIPLE TIMES, are certainly the best in our book. Somehow I think if we didn't provide 5-Star service, we wouldn't have multiple family events here. We so appreciate word of mouth and personal endorsement.

Mrs. Boss is working hard to keep plants alive for Svetlana and Ryan's big day, and we're so looking forward to that! Blessings to one and all. Please pray that it rains on top of the special chapel of love, and you're in our prayers!
